The suit in and of itself is somewhat of a life sustainer for Valerie. It reads off his vital signs and draws moisture from the air as needed to allow her to be able to stay above land far longer than even her own abilities allow for. Though it cannot be used as a way to fully sustain her, she finds it quite useful. There must, however, be moisture in the air to begin with in order to absorb it. If the air is completely dry, there is no way for it to be able to draw the nonexistent moisture in order to help sustain herself.
• Amphibious Nature: As with most Atlanteans, she is able to breathe underwater and on land. He can be immeared almost indefinitely under it without suffering so much as illness. Due to her royal lineage, she can also survive for much greater lengths of time up on land without having to go back to the water to breathe. If the humidity on land is high, it allows that time to be much greater because of the moisture in the air.
• Enhanced Sight: Her eyes have adapted to seeing in deep murky water, especially at night. And because of this, they have also adapted to allow her excellent night vision on land. Where some people might not be able to see, she’d be able to look around as if it were daylight, being able to pick out every detail perfectly.
• Enhanced Hearing: several times more acute than human capacity.
• Enhanced Smell: several times more acute than human capacity.
• Superhuman Strength: He possesses the strength of father, though maybe not quite to the same effect. She has been known to be able to do standing high jumps of up to over three stories that she practices with her father and can lift and throw things such as tanks that are at least 17 tons or under. Though he has incredible strength, it is all dependent on her hydration levels. The less hydrated she is, the weaker she becomes.
• Superhuman Endurance: Valerie possesses strength and stamina that her to swim up to 120 mph for at least a 3.5 hour period without significant breaks for rest or recuperation. Though not as great as her fathers, she is slowly building up to it and hopes he someday will be able to go just as fast, or even faster than her and endure for as long.
• Superhuman Durability: She can withstand impacts and attacks that could normall kill a person, even gravely injure a normal Atlanteans.
• Superhuman Speed: especially underwater
• Superhuman Reflexes
• Marine Telepathy: The ability to talk directly to aquatic life, via her mind. It also helps to allow her to have a small amount of command over these animals.
• Access to the Clear: An ability passed down from her to her father. The Clear is, I suppose, the aquatic equivalent to the Green in which Poison Ivy is known to use in her communications. The Clear acts as the universal consciousness of all aquatic animals. It allows her to sense the primal emotions of these creatures, for starters. It also allows her to communicate and command them from extreme distances, though she does not have the same control over it his father does. She is still trying to learn how to use it and it seems to overload her at times, causing great amounts of overwhelming emotions from the animals around her when he has worked herself too far. When she is accessing it, she can see what the animals see, feel what they feel, almost as if he becomes one with the animal. What all it could extend to is still a mystery to her and even her father. She is hoping she can someday get much better control over using it.
• Superhuman Equilibrium: An acute sense of balance that most Atlanteans possess.
• Hydrokinesis: Something that she actually gets from her mother's side, Valerie possesses the ability to actually manipulate water. It also allows him to increase the density of water to create ‘hard water’ objects. The ‘hard water’ would feel almost like thick ice, and he is able to shape it into anything her heart desires. Something unique about it, though, is she doesn’t necessarily need to be near water in order to control it. So long as there is enough moisture in the air, she can pull it out and accumulate it to use as she pleases.
• Expert Combatant: Taught by her father, as well as many others in Atlantis, she is an expert at hand to hand combat and dabbles in many other martial arts, mainly Jujutsu, Shooto, and Kendo.
• Expert Tactician: She has amazing strategic abilities, great and coming up with plans for this and that. It helps that she is a natural leader, just like her father.
• Excellent Chef: Oddly enough, he is an amazing chef and she loves to cook. She can make almost anything her little heart desires, so long as he has a cook book in front of him.
• Eidetic Memory: All she really has to do is read something and she has it memorized. Her memory has helped her in so many ways in her life thus far.
1.) Water Deprivation: Valerie has to return to water after a period of time or she will slowly begin to weaken. Depriving herself for too long could even lead to death.
2.) Vulnerability to Lead: When exposed to iron, her hard water powers are robbed. Prolonged exposure can ultimately weaken her other powers as well and cut her time on land in half.
3.) Family: She adores her family and would do anything to keep them safe. Because of this, they could be used against her, to the point in which they could even become a downfall to her.
4.) Vince McKenzie: The man she is in love with, she is a major weakness to him. He becomes a distraction at times and were he to be in danger, she could literally give her life just to keep him safe. She'd rather him live than herself, thinking that she could at least keep her legacy and her work with bringing the races together going on after her death.

Never the quiet one, she is bubbly and bright. She thrives off of the interactions she has with others and loves meeting new people. She wants to bridge the gap between her people and the people of land. And if that means talking to every single person he encounters and befriending them, so be it. She is a social butterfly for sure and it seems to help the natural leadership abilities that she possess. Able to get along with almost anyone that she meets. She doesn't, however, often allow herself the time for this, being that she wants to spend most of her time on working with bringing her people back together. Though she loves being social, she doesn't allow herself it as much as her sister.
She is passionate about what he does, putting her heart into everything one hundred percent. She firmly believes that if you don’t have your heart in your work, you won’t be able to complete it to the best of your abilities. Because of this, she is known to put his all in everything she gets herself involved in and she rarely regrets anything. She is also very passionate when it comes to her people. She loves Atlantis and his fellow Atlanteans and appreciates that she is seen as a beacon of hope for them. She wishes to be strong for them, wishes that she could be something for them that they could look up to. She is their symbol that, someday, things will be very different, that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and she is the one who will show them it.
Valerie is an incredibly bold woman and she is willing to take a stand for anything that she believes in, whether or not it will cause him to be alienated from those she loves. Very stubborn and proud, she will do anything for what is right and she believes that there is something more than the tyrannical ways of the Sea King. Though she doesn’t disagree with her entirely, agreeing on that their people need a more structured society, she doesn’t believe in the force she uses to make it that way. Stubborn, as I have said, it is very hard to change her mind when he sets in on something.
Valerie is exceptionally intelligent and, as said, very analytical in how she reacts to things. Quite away of the life full of privilege that she lives because of her family, she is very humble about it all and doesn’t often fall back on it as an excuse for things as some might. Humble as she may be, she is not afraid to lash out at anyone who tries to tell him that he is arrogant and spoiled or anything else that isn’t true. Call her what you might but lie about her and she is very likely to let her rage through. She works hard at everything he does and spends quite a bit of his time trying to mend the rift between her people, despite her bubbly nature. Whether she is in Atlantis or outside of it, she is always trying to figure out a way to bring everyone back together.
It had troubled her, even in her youth, to see that there were so many that just couldn’t seem to get along too well. She wanted everyone to be able to live in peace and harmony, while under a small bit of structure. She knew her family was doing all they could to reflect this, trying to keep the peace but with the rise of the tyrannical Sea King, it was getting harder and harder to do such.
But let’s not get too far ahead. When she wasn’t shadowing her father, she could often be found with her childhood friend, Vince McKenzie. He had always been playful with her, had always loved being in her company. He was probably the first friend she had actually made and he had always treasured her. He would eventually steal her heart away, figuratively speaking, something about her far too appealing, far too charming. Despite the tension between the two people, he had also looked up to Jonah. He was kind and someone she knew he could talk to, someone she knew could become a strong leader someday. When things got too rough for even her, she would go to him as a confidante.
As she went along in his life, she tried to befriend those of both sides and bring them closer, but it was to very little avail. She remained strong in the face of battle, knowing that it was imminent. She didn’t like it, the tension, wishing more than anything that she could do something. So she did what she could and she spoke outright against the things that she did not agree with. When her friend, Jonah, had left for the surface, that was when the Sea King had risen. Rain stayed strong, standing as a beacon for her people. And she certainly was a beacon. People looked up to her, people wished to follow her and align themselves with her family. But more people wished to be aligned with the Sea King.
War is on the way and she could feel it. It hurts her on the inside, she wished that the war that was starting to happen wouldn’t be going on but there was little she could do about it. She did what she could, trying to get people to fight, even fighting on a minimum when need be. But she was a lot better at keeping the peace. She did what she could to talk people down and, when she couldn’t, that was when she fought back. She didn’t like the use of force, it going against her views, but what else could she do?
In light of these events though, Rain has recently left her home to travel back and forth between it and New York. She found her friend Jonah, who had become a part of the STRIKE team. It had made sense to her, after all, his lineage did go back to the team, and she wanted to be part of the team herself. True, she had no real reason, she wanted to be close to Jonah again, try to convince him to help her with mending the rift a little more. But that wasn’t her full reason behind it. Auditioning for a team simply because of a love was absurd. She thought it would be a good way to get closer to the people of land, wanting more than anything to not only mend the rift between her people in the water but to also bring them close to the people outside of it. It also gave her a way to study the land people closer.
Down in her home of New Atlantis, the people aligned with her family were starting to be viewed as a resistance and, the thought of it seemed to break her heart. Things were only getting worse and there was little she could do. But that wasn’t going to stop her. She was going to perceiver. She was going to mend the rift, going to bring everyone together, unite them all under one rule and under one peaceful nation. She shares her time with the team and her people, using all of it as productively as she can. She knows that she can do it, feels it in her heart. And someday, she just knows, that everything will eventually work out.
